Pop email app for windows rt

All my e-mails go to my secondary POP addresses and none to Inbox, took me a while to find the address for inbox itself.

You have mail: Windows RT finally gets Outlook 2013

I am sure there are good technical reasons why POP is not supported although it is somewhat autocratic that MS has unilaterally decided to drop it. However there are lots of complaints about the limited storage space on Surface RT. IMAP leaves the e-mail on the server so can reduce what is on the local disk. First, I should not have to log into outlook.

PeteJS Replied on November 7, This does not make sense. RodneyKurbanali Replied on November 12, I bought my surface today and when the guy at the mall kiosk was setting it up, I got the POP email message also. If my provider does not support IMAP then i'll be forced to return this tablet as it makes no sense that i cannot check email.

Add an account using advanced setup

The guy himself seemed shocked as well, he knew everything about the tablet except that it did not support POP3 email accounts. If you configure one of these services to access your POP3 account, you can add the webmail account to the Mail app. To get started, visit Outlook. Log into your account, click the gear icon at the top-right corner of either Outlook.

Continue through either process and add your POP3 account details as if you were adding them to the Mail app itself. Go back into the Windows 8 Mail app and open the Settings charm. Select the Accounts option and tap or click Add an Account. Select Outlook or Google — whichever type of account you used above — and sign into the account with your username and password. You can send emails from your POP3 account from the Outlook.

Add Your Outlook.com or Gmail Account

To get around this, you can read your email in the modern Mail app and use a separate interface to reply to and send emails — either a desktop email program like Outlook or the Outlook. You could also reply to people from within the Mail app — recipients will see mail as coming from your outlook. Make sure they expect emails coming from that address.
